Gone in 24 hours: Xabi Alonso to Bayern Munich from Real Madrid(Confirmed)

Real Madrid Fans have faced quite a sudden and disappointed blow as Real Madrid midfielder, Xabi Alonso, has decided to leave the club and join the German champions.

The Spaniard has signed a 2 year contract with Bayern Munchen. The transfer fee reported is close to 10m

The official statement on Bayern Munchen's website read:

Now it's perfect! Xabi Alonso is a Bayer. On Friday, Bayern Munich and Real Madrid agreed on a final exchange of the Spanish world and European champions to Munich and signed the contract. The 32-year-old, who has signed a two-year contract with FCB is still officially adopted in the late morning in Madrid and then fly to Bayern. On Thursday Xabi Alonso had passed the obligatory medical check in Munich.

There wasn't a long running rumor or even a speculation that Xabi Alonso would leave the club. Real Madrid's midfield was overloaded with talent with further additions of Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez, which could be a reason for his departure.

Xabi Alonso, aged 32, still had 2 years left till his contract with Real Madrid came to an end.

Alonso has been a great asset for Madrid and his long passes and ultimate control over the midfield would be missed. He has won many trophies with Real Madrid which includes Real Madrid:

UEFA Champions League(2013–14)
UEFA Super Cup(2014)
La Liga(2011–12)
Copa del Rey(2010–11, 2013–14)
Supercopa de España(2012).

Report: Di Maria to Manchester United from Real Madrid

Manchester United have signed a contract worth £59.7m with Real Madrid for the transfer of Di Maria.A five-year contract has been signed.

Earlier today Real Madrid's official announcement read:

Real Madrid CF and Manchester United FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of the player Angel di Maria. The club would like to thank their professionalism over the years and wish him luck in his new career.

Di Maria had previously reported that he would be leaving the club. PSG and Manchester United were the only clubs that were willing to meet the 50 million euros price tag that Real Madrid had demanded for the star player.

But midway PSG President,Nasser Al-Khelaifi, had declared that they don't have any plan to buy Angel Di Maria with his expensive price tag being the reported reason.

After this Manchester United was the only destination for Angel Di Maria.

Real Madrid Manager did not want him to leave the club:
Ancelotti doesn't want Di María to leave Real Madrid

Di Maria told Marca(on the rift between him and the club):

"Many things were said, sometimes you think a lot and it hurts you when you are trying to always do your best for a club and then it comes out that you might be going to Tottenham,"

"These are difficult moments for a player and it is difficult to keep out of it. I was relaxed, I knew I was going to stay at Madrid. I spoke with the boss last summer, he wanted me to stay, I told him he could count on me. Things went well. I took a good decision and was European champion."

Here are the trophies he won as a Real Madrid player:
La Liga : 2011–12
Copa del Rey : 2010–11, 2013–14
Supercopa de España : 2012
UEFA Champions League : 2013–14
UEFA Super Cup 2014

(Week 3? If you are wondering how this is week 3 and are about to search the details for the previous week competitions, then STOP.  The official games would have begun just now for Messi but Ronaldo has already started his official campaign for the season as Real Madrid had qualified for the UEFA Super Cup and the Spanish Super Cup. Ronaldo had started his campaign with a bang scoring a brace against Sevilla and bringing the European Super Cup back to Madrid but failing to score in both legs of the Spanish Super Cup.
In the first game of the league, a lot was expected from Ronaldo against the newly promoted team. He found the net only once scoring a long range goal in the bottom right corner of the goal (assist Isco)

Lionel Messi(playing his first game) scored a brace, finding the net in both the halves of the game. His first goal was assisted by Busquets and the placed the final goal in the bottom left corner of the net. He successfully found his place in the La Liga Team of the Week.

Competition Preview (Supercopa de España): Real Madrid vs Atletico Madrid

Real Madrid are set to continue their campaign and would be aiming to win the second competition of this season, The 2014 Supercopa de España.

Real Madrid having already achieved their long awaited feat ,The La Decima, and would now be aiming to conquer the target for winning all 6 trophies in a season, a feat only achieved by their rivals F.C. Barcelona.

In April, Real Madrid won their 19th Copa del Rey defeating their arch rivals Barcelona 2-1, thanks to Gareth Bale and his spectacular burst of speed. Their victory in the King's Cup final helped them achieve their spot in the two legged Supercopa de España against city rivals Atletico Madrid.

The star of the UEFA Super Cup, Cristiano Ronaldo, seems to be already prepared and is confident for the game this Wednesday.
"Now bring on the Spanish Super Cup" said Cristiano Ronaldo in his interview with Marca, after the game against Sevilla.

Atletico Madrid having lost some of their star players like Thibaut Courtois, David Villa, Filipe Luís, and Diego Costa, seemed to have lost their strength during the initial period of the summer transfer. Later these players were replaced by Jan Oblak, Miguel Ángel Moyá, Antoine Griezmann, Guilherme Siqueira and Mario Mandžukić.

After their 2-0 win against Sampdoria in the Trofeo Carranza game, Atletico midfielder Mario Suarez said:
“We play every game like it’s our last.  Every game is important.  The team played well and we felt good.
We know exactly how we play and we’re united.”

He also praised the new goalkeeper Jan Oblak and said “Oblak is a great goalkeeper; he conveys a sense of security”.

This means they are back in the game.

Moreover Atletico Madrid still have the most important man having their back, none other than Diego Simeone.

The La Liga defending champions last competed in the Spanish Super Cup last year when they were defeated by F.C.Barcelona on away goals. The have won this competition only once, back in 1985.

On the other hand Real Madrid last appeared in the the Super Cup back in 2012 and also won that competition defeating Barcelona on away goals.
(Are we the only one sensing a pattern here?)
