Real Madrid Fans have faced quite a sudden and disappointed blow as Real Madrid midfielder, Xabi Alonso, has decided to leave the club and join the German champions.
The Spaniard has signed a 2 year contract with Bayern Munchen. The transfer fee reported is close to €10m
The official statement on Bayern Munchen's website read:
There wasn't a long running rumor or even a speculation that Xabi Alonso would leave the club. Real Madrid's midfield was overloaded with talent with further additions of Toni Kroos and James Rodriguez, which could be a reason for his departure.
Xabi Alonso, aged 32, still had 2 years left till his contract with Real Madrid came to an end.
Alonso has been a great asset for Madrid and his long passes and ultimate control over the midfield would be missed. He has won many trophies with Real Madrid which includes Real Madrid:
UEFA Champions League(2013–14)
UEFA Super Cup(2014)
La Liga(2011–12)
Copa del Rey(2010–11, 2013–14)
Supercopa de España(2012).
